My Sweet Bowtique $25 Gift Certificate Giveaway

For all of you that have little girls and need some more stocking stuffers – this one’s for you! About six months ago I told you all about one of the best places to buy hairclips, bows and cute little girl accessories online, My Sweet Bowtique. Recently My Sweet Bowtique has renovated their site and added some great new products as well. I love the new look and I couldn’t be more excited to share their new and improved, revamped site with you. You will love how easy the site is to navigate and add items in to your cart.

The biggest challenge that I came across with My Sweet Bowtique was deciding what to pick out! You have not seen mind boggling selection until you have visited this site. Basically you can customize your hair clip, bow or accessory to go with any outfit, personality or preference. The combinations are endless! You can order your clip in any way that you want. Either a 1 1/4″ snap clip or a 1 3/4″ alligator clip. Many of the designs are shown on the snap clips, so if you would like that design on an alligator clip that is shown in a snap clip style you would just need to specify when ordering.

Just to give you an example of how simple yet thorough it is to choose the ideal clip I have decided to show you a screenshot play by play of the process. I started with clicking on the Clippies Category and then going from there.

After clicking on Clippies, this is the menu of choices that is available to choose from. As you can see there are 11 categories of decorated clippies to choose from.

I selected the bow subcategory, which then brought up three more options: Satin Padded Bows, Satin Bow with Pearl and Layered Bows.

From there I selected Satin Padded Bows. This is the top of the page that comes up. As you can see there are 14 different color options for the padded bow that you would like on your clip. Then I scrolled down the page to view all of the ribbon choices available to cover the clip beneath the bow.






As you can see, the design options are endless! I don’t even want to think about the math that is involved to figure out just how many combinations that can be achieved with just this ONE subcategory! At the end of the page you have an option to choose the bow color and the ribbon choice – all for only $2.00 per clippie. This style in particular is only available for the 30mm snap clip but there are several other categories where you can choose an alligator clip if you prefer. Do you all see what I am talking about? The most clip options I have ever seen offered. Period.

In addition to hair clips, bows and head bands, My Sweet Bowtique also offers a variety of Crochet Hats, Tutu’s and Tutu Dresses as well. The color choices and options that are laid out for each of these categories are also quite extensive.


The Crochet Hats are offered in two different sizes, Infant or Toddler. There are 12 different color options and 5 different style options. Just like the clips you can customize your hat to be exactly what you would like, to compliment any outfit. The crochet hats run in price from $9.99 to $14.99 depending upon the style you select.


The Tutu’s and Tutu Dresses are also a really popular item that I would love to tell you about. Just like all the other categories, My Sweet Bowtique does not disappoint when it comes to options for your Tutu needs. To be honest, I have never even seen a Tutu Dress before, but it is a really cute idea. Whether it is a Tutu or a Tutu Dress that you are looking for, you get three choices of tulle color for it, and 20 different colors of tulle to choose from. The Tutu’s are available from size 0-6mos all the way up to 2T-3T. The Tutu’s also have four different style options to choose from: Original Tutu, Pixie Cut Tutu, Knotted Tutu and Tied Tutu. All of them are adorable. A wonderful addition to the Tutu pages is a slide show that shows girls of different ages showcasing all of the different Tutu styles. It really helps you figure out which Tutu style that you like the best because you are able to see them in action.

As you can see, My Sweet Bowtique is one of the most comprehensive hair accessory sites for little girls that I have yet to find. The only thing that I feel this site is lacking are clippie and bow holders. I would love to see some of those on the site in the future. Any way you look at it though, My Sweet Bowtique is a definite must shop site in my opinion if you are looking to create the perfect custom hair accessory.

Being a mom that is trying to finally get my own business up and running, I love to spotlight other amazing moms that have accomplished this difficult feat. I know exactly how much hard work that they are putting in behind the scenes and I applaud them! Christine, who is the mom behind My Sweet Baby Jane, is no exception. She works very hard at making her products as well as maintaining her website, which by the way, looks awesome.

If you didn’t all ready know, I have been trying to get my own website off the ground for about a year now. In my webstore I plan to sell unique handmade gifts for new and expectantant moms. I have tons of ideas and plans, but my attention to detail is holding this project way back. Not to mention that little thing called, a super busy, hectic, blog-filled, family life that gets in the way – just a little bit. So you can imagine how awesome it felt to be contacted by Sandra Magsamen, award winning author, artist, and handmade gift extraordinaire.

Let me give you just a little bit of background on Sandra Magsamen. She has been making and selling products worldwide and touching people with her creations for twenty years. Family Travel Gear Review and Giveaway

Our family loves spending time together. We have such a great time just hanging out, laughing and playing with the boys whenever we have a day together. We, as well as our boys, also love spending time with my husbands parents and brothers as much as we can. We are a pretty close knit bunch. About three years ago we had to move about 80 miles south of my in-laws. This was a huge adjustment for our family because we went from literally living one block away to 80 miles away! Over the past three years we have spent so much time in the car with the boys going back and forth once a week or so to see our extended family, not to mention our friends too.

With one in diapers, and one still potty training I have a ton of things to pack for these day trips. My boys also love to take a ton of toys and video games with them too. What I find most challenging, besides getting all three kids in the car, is having a secure and kid friendly place to put all of their snacks, drinks and games. That is why I jumped at the opportunity to review the Kids Car Organizer XL, as well as a couple of travel games, from Family Travel Gear.

They do their homework to ensure that their customers will be pleased with the travel items that they receive. The backseat organizer that I received was no exception!

As soon as I took it out of the box I knew that this was an amazing product! It folded up nicely and it also opened up without any problems either. Inside there are adjustable dividers to organize and separate whatever your kids need. The outside has pockets all the way around. It is equal on both sides – to eliminate bickering over who has what, genious! We used the pockets in the front for the boys cups. It worked way better than the dinky cupholders on the sides of their booster seats. The padded sides keep contents insulated too, which makes this organizer double as a fabulous picnic bag! The top has a flip up design which acts as a tray. This enables children to color without the crayons rolling away, or eat without spillage on the floor. I love that! Benji is always eating fries in the car and they are seriously all over the floor. – SO GROSS! This awesome organizer buckles to the seat belt to keep it secure and has a handy carry strap so you can easily transport all the kids items at once. I can’t tell you how many trips I make back and forth to the car when we get home from visiting our family. I can’t carry all the toys and video games at once so I end up making several trips to get it all in the house. This organizer, hands down is the best that I have ever seen, or used. Little Oscar saw it and thought that it looked just as good as I did apparently because he asked me if he could have it for his birthday! Lucky for him he gets to share it with his brothers and doesn’t have to wait until his birthday rolls around again. Needless to say I would definitely reccomend this organizer to any family no matter how much time they spend in the car together. Family Travel Gear also sent the boys a couple of their best selling travel games for kids. Both Oscar and Benji received Flip a Fish and Mini Dozer. These were a big hit with the boys. They didn’t even wait until I put them in the car before they started playing with them. These games are simple and fun. Family Travel Gear offers several flip and magnetic games, including my personal favorite Wooly Willy. A great way to pass the time in the car. And at only $1.99 a piece you simply can’t go wrong. These games coupled with the all the stuff they can fit in the backseat organizer will surely put off that all too familiar question, “are we there yet?”. Well, maybe at least for a little while anyways!

While I was looking through all of the wonderful products offered at Family Travel Gear I came across something that I just have to mention. One of my biggest problems in my travels, whether it is short trips or long trips in the car, is my blasted garbage can. Because we have a family of five no tiny litterbag will do. I have a large round pop up trash bag but it drives me nuts! It is always falling over and spilling the garbage all over the floor. Either from my driving or my boys just knocking it over for sport. Then I have the unpleasant chore of reloading all the nastiness back inside, over and over again, until I finally remember to dump it out. I have been on the lookout for the pefect travel garbage can for months. I will gladly pay that amount if it keeps me from having to touch the nasty stuff inside the garbage every time it spills over!

The Temple Touch® Premium Fever Thermometer Review and Giveaway

When Emilio was sick with a fever a week ago I was forced to take his temp with my regular digital thermometers. Much to his dismay I stuck it under his arm to get the temp. What he hated the most was how long it took. ebeanstock Melissa and Doug Large Knob Puzzle Review

A few weeks ago I was asked to test toys for a company called ebeanstalk. You may remember that in previous posts I have raved over their site. They sent out a number of baby toys and toys for 1 year olds to toy experts (moms) for their review. Through reviews such as mine, this helps ebeanstalk select great learning toys. The toy they sent was the First Shapes Jumbo Knob Puzzle from Melissa and Doug who makes lots of wooden toys.

I was thrilled to receive this puzzle. I have other wooden puzzles but none with the jumbo knobs so I was anxious to see how Emilio would like it. I know that once I saw it I immediately loved it! This Melissa and Doug puzzle is crafted by hand, one of the reasons that I love this brand in particular so much. The shapes were large and easy to recognize even though they were cleverly disquised in the shape of a house. I also loved that it was designed using primary colors, so I could easily teach Emilio the basic shapes and colors at the same time. I thought it was awesome but Emilio’s opinion is what mattered most.

As soon as he got his sticky little fingers on it he went to town grabbing the jumbo knobs and removing and replacing all the pieces over and over again. I love that this puzzle is wooden. One reason being that Emilio’s other favorite thing to do is bite on the peices, because he is teething like crazy. With other puzzles the material becomes soggy and can become a choking hazard. This puzzle is made of wood and built to last! The knobs are tightly secured to the puzzle pieces with a single large screw. Emilio adores this puzzle and beams with pride each time he fits a puzzle piece in its proper place. He also loves playing with the pieces individually and taking them around the house with him wherever he may go. Below are some pictures of Emilio enjoying his puzzle.



Bottom line, I would definitely reccommend the First Shapes Jumbo Knob Puzzle for any one year old. It is a fun and easy to use learning toy that will withstand the test of time as it gets passed on from child to child. I have to admit, one of my favorite things about babies is dressing them up. I just love finding something cute and one of a kind to dress Emilio in. The entire first year for most babies, which sadly for Emilio is almost over, is spent primarily in onesies. I think one of the reasons that I long for a little girl is to dress up their cute little hiney. I just adore those cute little bloomers! Pink Confetti Kidz creates what they call ruffled bums for onesies in cooridinating fabric to the applique that is on the front. This unique design is not only adorable but a practical solution that will make mom feel like her little lovely is all dolled up without the baby feeling all cumbersome in multiple layers. Each applique is created using designer fabrics that just ooze trendy style. The appliques are heat sealed and stitched on top for a secure hold. These super cute onesies are available for $18 each. Not many people know this but I love to wear flip flops. Ever since I had my first child I have practically lived in them. I hate when winter comes around simply because I have to cover up my feet and actually wear socks and shoes. Some may think that its weird but I don’t care. These are also offered with your choice of alligator or french clip. Just like the Toddler Monogrammed Bows if you don’t like any of the styles offered than you have the option to build your own bow. There are so many monogrammed options to choose from. In addition to getting an initials monogrammed you can also get a full name up to nine letters monogrammed. The bows that have the initials monogrammed are about 5 inches in length and on a grosgrain ribbon that is 1.5 inches in size. The full name monogrammed bows are about 5.5 – 6 inches in length and also use a 1.5 inch grosgrain ribbon. Both styles give you the freedom to choose your clip preference as the others described earlier. Below is a sample of each of these styles.

Babybonkie Review and Giveaway – 2 Winners!

Its hard to believe that it has been almost six years since I brought my very first baby home from the hospital. I remember it so well. I was in a panic! I had no experience with babies. Period. Not only did I have to learn about taking care of a baby but my own body had some serious issues adjusting to this new life. With so many new things to freak out about all at once and zero experience I needed all the help I could get!

One of the first tricks they teach us new moms is to swaddle. Or what I like to refer to it as is the baby burrito. For those that are expecting or have no idea what I am talking about, swaddling is a method of wrapping your baby up snuggly in a blanket. Swaddling comforts your newborn by simulating the cramped confines and warmth of the womb. Because they feel comforted it also doubles as a sleep aid, which is fantastic! I am all for a sleeping baby!

I wish back then I had some swaddlers. Swaddlers are premade blanket type forms that are specifically designed to swaddle your baby and because they are held together with Velcro tabs the baby can not wriggle it loose. My firstborn was always sticking his arms out and undoing the swaddle which used to drive me nuts! I think that they came out with the swaddlers right before my second son was born and at that time the whole concept was a little weird to me, I wasn’t really sure how to use it and by the time I decided to give it a shot he had grown out of them. So with my third, I was bound and determined to use a swaddler for him. I am so glad that I did! It was really a wonderful experience, for both of us. He was kept nice and snug, and he slept great! For the mother of a newborn, even a seasoned mom like myself, the swaddler was an idea that was heaven sent.

I have recently had the chance to review a line of luxurious swaddlers designed by Babybonkie. Babybonkie uses super chic and super soft fabrics that surround your baby in comfort and style. The Babybonkie that I received is so beautiful not to mention cozy and warm. The innovative design makes swaddling simple thanks to its unique shape and Velcro closures. It is made with a 100% cotton fabric exterior and has minkie lining on the inside. It is generously sized at approximately 21″ for length and an 11″ width. Babybonkie also proudly carries an organic option for those that seek a greener alternative, aptly named the Ecobonkie. I was also given an Ecobonkie to review as well. Both the exterior and interior lining of the Ecobonkie is made from 100% organic cotton. The organic cotton is very soft and comfy. It is a little lighter weight than the traditional Babybonkie because the interior is cotton instead of the minkie fabric. I think that this would be perfect for the spring and summer months. Two of my babies were born in summer and even though it was warmer at night they still needed to be swaddled. The Ecobonkie, pictured below, is available for $72.

In addition to the Babybonkie and the Ecobonkie, Babybonkie also offers sleepsacks for your growing infant called Bonkiebags. The Bonkiebag is meant for babies in the 6-12 month range. I was also given a Bonkiebag to review and put to the test with Emilio. It came just in time! He desperately needed a larger sleep sack than the one that he had been using. The Bonkiebag is generously sized at approximately 28″ in length and 20″ in width. Emilio has plenty of room to grow into this great sleep sack. Which is really saying a lot because he is now 11 months old! It has a truly innovative design. The Velcro closures are at the tops of the shoulders, so its a little trickier than a traditional zip closure to scoot him into the sack. Its easy to get used to and I like that there isn’t a zipper end poking Emilio in the neck anymore. The fabrics are just as luxurious as they are for the Babybonkie. The Bonkiebag that I received has a cotton exterior and a minkie interior lining. It is really warm and cozy and Emilio loves it. My only complaint about the Bonkiebag is the tag on the back. It is a little scratchy. This doesn’t change Emilio’s comfort but as for me I do notice the tag scratching my arms in the night when I get up with him or when I am nursing him before bed. I think that I would prefer that the tag be on the front just like it is on the Babybonkie. Other than that minor detail I am absolutely thrilled with the Bonkiebag and refuse to use any other kind. The Bonkiebag is available for $80. Just like the Babybonkie there is an eco friendly option, the Ecobonkiebag, which is available for $90. Below is picture of Emilio sound asleep enjoying his Bonkiebag. You can tell from the picture how large and roomy the Bonkiebag is.

The Bonkiebaby product line receives an enthusiastic two thumbs up from me! I think that this is one of the best baby shower gifts that you could give someone. If I do ever end up having a fourth child I most definitely will be using my Babybonkies. Is it weird that I love these so much that I am saving them just in case I have another baby? I simply adore the chic and modern fabric options available. It is also great to know that Babybonkie products are all made right here in the USA.
